When you look at portable media players, Apple and Microsoft are the two that everyone is scrambling to beat. The latest offering in the Microsoft Zune line is full of features and pretty intuitive to use. The Zune HD 32 Gig MP3 Player is very sleek and powerful; it is a worthy addition to the Zune line. The capacity of the player allows you to store a lot of music and some video files to boot. There is also a built in HD radio tuner. This device also allows HD output (using a dock) to HDTV.
One of the most noticeable highlights of this player is the OLED HD display. This display is touch sensitive with crisp video playback. The menus are easy to navigate on the large screen. The one drawback is how easy the screen shows fingerprints and smudges. The screen is also great for surfing the web using the built-in Wi-Fi. When surfing the web, you have “tap to zoom” abilities and touch screen QWERTY keyboard to make it simple to view and browse.
The zune also allows access to the Zune Marketplace. This marketplace offers memberships or “passes” to allow for downloading tracks, videos, and channels. Although it is a separate cost, it can also link up your Zune account to Xbox Live for use on your TV.
